Agnew meadows/1000 island lake/Minaret lake/Agnew meadows
June 6 @ 8:00 am - June 9 @ 5:00 pm
This is considered early season for this area. The chances of snow and or ice is still pretty high. The need for snowshoes and/crampons will be determined depending on conditions over the winter.
The plan is to leave Escondido transit center at 5am Thursday June 6. Arrive at the permit office, collect permit and head to TH. We will leave High Trail TH at 1pm. We will hike to 1000 island lake where we will camp. We will then have a whole day to chill around 1000 island lake as we will camp there two nights. We will then hike down to minaret lake and stay overnight on the 8th. We will then hike out on June 9th and begin our return back to SD.
This is a nice and relaxing trip. This is not meant to pound the trail and chew up miles. This is just to get out under the stars and enjoy the surroundings.
We will be in bear country so canisters are required.
RSVP: You will be put on a waiting list, I will contact you via meetup message. If you do not respond to my message, I will go to the next person on the waiting list. RSVP will open Feb 2.
